Commissioned in 2001, the Low Energy Office (LEO) building was designed to house the ministry of energy, green Technology and Water at the time. Its ultimate goal is to achieve optimum design through effective building space utilization, human comfort, passive and active energy efficient features and low maintenance throughout for modern office buildings.

At 6 storeys high, the LEO building is the first full-scaled showcase building initiated by the Government of Malaysia for energy efficient and low Environmental impact in the country. It served as a benchmark and reference for Malaysian standard 1525:2007 'Energy Efficiency in non-domestic buildings', and won the ASEAN Energy Efficient Award 2006. it was featured an a national Stamp in 2009.

Highlight of the building is the atrium which is naturally lit and ventilated through landscape and water feature evaporative cooling and design of a “thermal flue” for thus space. Other features include an energy management system for monitoring and optimisation, rain water harvesting system, double roof system, sunshade louvers with light shelves to name a few. The building has a proven energy index close to 100kwh/m2 per year. Extra costs invested for the Energy Efficient measures were 8% of the construction Cost with a payback period of about 5 years.
