Project Description
The InventQjaya building situated in Cyberjaya was commissioned in 2003 by Reveo Incorporated, a US based research and development (R&D) company, through an initiation by the Malaysian Government. It is a premier R&D centre, showcasing the government's goal to achieve technology sovereignty by 2020.

Completed in October 2004, SNO designed InventQjaya to house state-of-the-art laboratories with supporting facilities. The layout centres on its naturally lit 4 storeys atrium which traverses across the entire building, connecting all 4 quadrants of laboratories, creating an impressive arcade-like space.

The design emphasizes on green and sustainable elements with a direct response to the local tropical climate. Besides the atrium allowing for the penetration of natural diffused daylight into the heart of the building, the building's north-south orientation plays a big part in climate control. These facades adopt structural expressionism in its architecture, whereby the building skin is recessed with its glazing and service gantries. Direct heat gain through the facade is thus minimised with this recessed concept. Large sun shade louvres were adopted on the west and east facades for further climate control. In effect, the building interior exhibits ambient comfort levels thereby minimising the need for excessive energy usage.

Additionally, the structural expressionism of the architecture compliments the high tech and IT-themed characteristic of Cyberjaya. This approach showcases the type of township Cyberjaya strives to be.

Currently, the building no longer houses InventQjaya. It is currently occupied by Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences.
