Project Description
In 1998, SNO participated in a Request for Proposal (RFP) by Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd for the planning and design of Putrajaya Precinct 1’s Parcel E. This parcel houses 15 blocks of government buildings with one block of retail. SNO were selected as one of the five architects for the project and secured Block E2 which then housed the Ministry of Education (MOE).

Block E2 has a nett office area of 400,000 sqft and is the biggest block in Parcel E. At 10 storeys high with 2 levels of basement carpark, the large building plinth is designed in a 'L' configuration with its central core facing the main axis of the development.

The facade's stoic and bold treatment of repetitive punch windows, grey walls in sprayed granite and strong accented pillars was purposefully designed to reflect the essence of the institution.

Passive green features such as the building's north-south orientation, the deep recessed punch windows and sun shade device were incorporated to respond to the hot equatorial climate.
